Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a 2000 year old technique that is but one facet of Chinese medicine. It is apart of a complete medical system that approaches each person uniquely by not only treating symptoms but also addressing the root cause of those symptoms. It entails the insertion of very fine sterile needles into a specific point along the body in oder to address a specific condition or area of concern. It is incredibly safe and extremely effective and most patients don't feel a thing.

Acupuncture points provide a stimulus to the nervous and cardiovascular systems which release chemicals and promote blood flow in the body. Doing this helps aid the body and give it the push it needs to promote its natural healing process. Research has shown acupuncture to increase blood circulation, reduce pain and inflammation, regulate the nervous system, boost the immune system and calm the mind.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is the other side of the coin to acupuncture. It it often times prescribed in concordance with acupuncture to treat a specific ailment quicker and more effectively. Depending on the ailment or disease, in many instances Chinese herbal medicine can be more effective at treating the condition than acupuncture alone. I'm a certified herbalist and every herbal formula is specifically curated to your situation as to not have any adverse effects or interactions with existing medications.
Cupping, Gua Sha, Moxibustion
I'm sure you have seen the red and purple circles on peoples arms and backs. That is another modality with roots in Chinese medicine. Cupping increases blood flow, relives muscle pain, breaks up adhesions and "knots", helps the body to clear stagnate blood and cellular waste so muscles can relax. It also aids in recovery time from vigorous activities and sports.

Moxibustion is made from an herb called mugwort and is burned on certain acupuncture points on the body. It can stimulate blood circulation, it warms the area and meridians to relieve back and knee pain and pain from arthritis. It works great to alleviate and regulate menstrual irregularities. Research has also shown that moxibustion can boost immunity by increasing white blood cell count.
